The Profitable Practice is managed and edited by OMS partners Scott Somers, AIA, NCARB, and Coleen Monaghan.

Scott Somers, AIA and President of OMS is the energy behind The Profitable Practice. He is the founder, editor, and author of the newsletter. Over the past 16 years of designing and manging over 150 healthcare projects, Scott noticed that most healthcare practices share common problems, inefficiencies, and challenges. The Profitable Practice deals directly with these issues one by one, offering information and solutions.

Somers, a licensed architect, has over 20 years experience in the architectural profession, construction, and project development industry, working on projects totaling over $650 million in construction costs.

He is licensed in 11 states (and growing) and is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers, the Washington State Hospital Association, and the Washington Rural Health Association.

Coleen Monaghan, Princial Interior Designer at OMS, is a much sought-after interior designer whose expertise lies in the space planning and design of healthcare facilities. She has more than 27 years experience.

Nationally recognized, Monaghan has completed a diversity of healthcare projects, ranging from orthodontic offices to ambulatory surgery centers.

Coleen and Scott have worked together for 13 years, seamlessly integrating architecture and interior design to develop cohesive, functional, and creative workspaces for the health care industry.
